Former Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers star Richard Sherman has been arrested Wednesday morning on a burglary domestic violence charge
The 33-year-old agent was arrested by the police after trying to force into a family member's home in Redmond. the officers showed up in the Redmond area after receiving a call from the members inside the home who claimed a family member who did not live there was trying to break in. Sherman allegedly tried to break into the home of a family member and fought with the police when they arrived but No one was injured. Sherman allegedly fought with cops and was token into the custody.
The King County Correctional Facility lists Sherman as being arrested at 6:08 a.m. Online records say bail was denied and his case is investigated as a felony case.Redmond Police Department, Chief Darrell Lowe said at the news conference on Wednesday that Sherman faces charges of suspicion of resisting arrest and malicious mischief. And Also, Washington State Patrol Capital,"Ron Mead" said at the news conference that his department is also ready to refer Sherman to prosecutors for possible misdemeanor DUI and hit-and-run charges related to a separate incident Wednesday.
The NFL Players Association released a statement Wednesday morning
confirming the news of his arrest. “We were made aware of an arrest last night of one of our player leaders for an alleged domestic violence incident and have activated our domestic violence crisis protocol for the protection and support of everyone involved,’’ the statement read. “We will continue to monitor events closely as more facts are made available to us.’’ In a statement this morning, the NFL noted that Sherman stay as a free agent but the league will investigate his case for possible discipline. Sherman has said in several interviews that he would consider re-signing with the Seahawks.
Sherman was expected to sign with a new team for the 2021 after He played the last three seasons with the 49ers
